Kingdom minded believing.

Kingdom minded believing.

I was reading in Mark today and came across the story of Jairus’ dead daughter and it just penetrated my heart in a different way today (isn’t that awesome how the Holy Spirit works!). Jairus was a synagogue ruler- of highest class, privileged and the elite who prostrated himself before Jesus and pleaded earnestly with him to heal his daughter.

“While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher any more?” Mark 5:35

vs.36- Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”

“Just believe”

It’s really that simple.

Do you believe Jesus is who He says He is?

Do you believe that Jesus will do what He says He will do?

“Just believe”

I don’t know about you, but death is a pretty big thing in the natural eye. When Jairus was told his daughter was dead, can you just imagine how he started to feel? I can imagine how I would react as a response to this in the natural, human understanding!

Don’t you just feel the peace of God, though, in Jesus’ following words?- “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

This.verse.right.here. – Jesus ignored what they said. He seen eternally! Jesus seen “kingdom minded”!

Jesus ignored the doubters, the unbelief of those around.

He seen with His spiritual eyes what was possible. He knew that with God all things are possible!

Are you kingdom minded? Do you really believe that with God ALL things are possible?

In your present circumstance, are you thinking the way Jesus is???

In Mark, Mark 8:33, when Jesus was teaching the disciples about his upcoming death and resurrection, Peter took Jesus aside and rebuked him in regards to these things. Jesus said, “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

Wow! Peter right here is not thinking with a kingdom mindset.

How do I have a kingdom mindset? This old song I have found is so true!

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace.”

The closer I get to Jesus- the farther away this world entices me. The closer I get to Jesus- the more of him that I see! The more of him that I want! His presence, His glory, His kingdom! More of him and less of me!

Let me challenge you today, to try it. Get lost in his presence today. Get lost in his word today and you’ll see- your spirit man will crave the more. The more of God! Put to death the things of man, the flesh, and crave a kingdom mindset and just believe!
